Thriller genre research

What is a Thriller?
A Thriller is a film with an exciting plot. It often revolves around anticipation and suspense, with the aim being to keep the audience alert and on the edge of their seats as the plot builds up to the climax. Tension and excitement are often used as the main elements of a Thriller film.

Target Audience
Someone who enjoys a mystery, working things out and loves surprises would enjoy thriller films. They are mainly watched by a young audience (25 and under) and are usually more popular with females than males.

Supernatural Thriller
As our plot consists of the use of a Oujia board and spirit interaction I think it would most likely be a Supernatural Thriller. This sub-genre usually is based on the fact that a protagonist has psychic powers. They usually deal with the unknown and feature elements like ghosts, spirits, goddesses and miracles.
